These boots are made for walkin’…

If you check out this month’s Glamour magazine you may spot an advertorial for Timberland that I styled way back in July.  What I didn’t realise at the time was that the shoot was also due to be used in Schuh stores to promote the Timberland brand, including a prominent display in the main shop window on Oxford Street – so exciting!  Attached are some images from the shoot, both as they appear in Glamour and in-store, and also some cheeky behind-the-scenes shots showing how we turned a gloriously sunny summer’s day into typical British autumn.

Shot in Camden market and the surrounding London streets, this was a really fun day.  Everyone on the team was fantastic and we had a giggle trying to recreate rain using a pair of 99p store watering cans.  It certainly attracted attention…

All in all it was a fun days work and as you can see by the number of shots, it was also a productive one.  Furthermore, with this season’s trend for chunky boots it’s never been a better time in invest in a pair of Timberlands (and that goes for you too girls).  Pick up a pair of these durable, waterproof classics and you’ll be stomping your way through autumn.

A month ago I styled the cover and main fashion shoot for Velvet magazine’s July/August issue.  Whilst it may be scorching outside fashion mags are already focusing on the forthcoming winter season and this story features looks from the AW13 collections at Chanel, Burberry Prorsum, Gucci and Stella McCartney. Above is the cover (photography by Jenny Brough) and below are some behind-the-scenes snaps of the shoot. I hope you like…

Think pink

Ah pink! The colour of rose petals and sunsets and healthy flushed cheeks, and traditionally, the colour most associated with young girls. Furthermore, as decreed by Vogue’s AW13 trend guide (aka the fashion bible) head-to-toe pink is this season’s top trend, with Lanvin, Celine, Mulberry and Dior all opting for rosy hues in their catwalk collections.

Vogue Autumn/Winter 2013 catwalk edit (August issue)

Supremely feminine and particularly striking on blondes, this season’s top garments include oversized outerwear, 60s inspired skirt suits and slinky silk dresses. The high street has been quick to pick up on the trend with Oasis, Jaeger and Marks & Spencer all producing baby pink cocoon coats ready for the autumn chill.

Tying in with the theme are 2 personal items:- my shoot for this month’s Country & Town House magazine (aptly titled Pretty in Pink) featuring a Roberto Cavalli SS13 pale pink leather lace dress & floral garland hairpiece; and my outfit for a forthcoming 20s inspired wedding party (see above). My friend Danielle – who dons pink on many an occasion and is not shy of declaring it her favourite colour – will be most pleased. This one’s for you hun…

Today’s post is a behind-the-scenes video of a shoot I styled for August’s issue of Country & Townhouse magazine (out tomorrow).  It was shot at the stunning Cannizaro House in Wimbledon and features the gorgeous Fifi (check out her blog on http://fifislookingglass.com).  Make-up was by renowned Beauty Editor Nathalie Eleni, with photography by the talented Clara Copley.  I adored doing this shoot – it was so much fun and such a fantastic team.  & it looks so pretty and serene.  Hope you enjoy.

Clothing by Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Temperley London, J. JS Lee, Stills and Jean-Pierre Braganza.  Accessories by Julia Clancey, Erickson Beamon and Bally, with ribbons, butterflies and flowers supplied by Barnett Lawson and McCulloch & Wallis.
